At The Matheny School, education is personalized to maximize each child’s learning potential. Recognizing that every student is unique, our faculty tailor educational programs to meet individual cognitive and physical needs. Students engage in language arts, math, science, social studies, 21st century skills, adaptive physical education, and the arts. Curriculum and materials are adapted for optimal learning, using interactive technology, assistive tools, and medical aids as needed. Instructional adaptations are based on each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

The Matheny Preschool Classroom offers a nurturing and therapeutic environment for early learning and emotional development. Our team provides individualized sensory-rich activities using adapted toys, touch screen devices, and therapy tools to support each child’s goals.

Teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals work together to offer developmentally appropriate experiences that promote active decision-making and milestone creation. A Centers-Based Learning approach is used to support academic progress and social skills, encouraging students to take turns, listen, make decisions, and participate in interactive lessons.

High School

In Matheny High School, students rotate classes for individualized attention, with teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals offering age-appropriate experiences that encourage active decision-making and milestone creation.
