Life Enrichment Therapies
Our dedicated Life Enrichment Therapies (LET) staff work to enhance residents’ quality of life through a variety of programs and services. The LET Department consists of Community Connections, Adult Services, and Recreation and Music Therapies.

Clinical Therapies
Speech Therapy provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients who exhibit speech and language disorders and/or dysphagia involvement. Therapists provide individual, group, and/or supportive services in the areas of communication, hearing, oral care, and dysphagia.
Physical Therapy provides therapeutic interventions to help patients and students attain their optimal level of function. Patients may receive services such as gait training, balance training, mobility training and therapeutic exercise. The team also plays an active role in evaluating the positional and adaptive equipment needs of our patients.
Occupational Therapy is a health and rehabilitation therapy that helps people regain, develop, and build skills that are important for independent functioning, health, and well-being. This team provides assessment and treatment in the areas of cognitive, motor and, psychosocial development.
Our Seating Clinic staff work to ensure proper fitting, delivery, and training in the use and care of assistive technology equipment. We provide comprehensive assessments for manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, and custom seating support systems.

This team has expertise in the selection and procurement of durable medical equipment (DME) and complex rehabilitative technology (CRT). Matheny’s on-site rehab technology shop gives us the ability to customize and modify equipment for each customer.

Clinical dieticians provide assessments with recommendations for optimal nutrition. This includes provision of adequate, individualized, healthy, and safe meals, as well as nutrition counseling and education of Matheny patients, families, and staff.
This team provides a wide range of therapeutic and diagnostic services to patients with cardio-pulmonary issues, including patient assessments, care planning, oxygen administration, medication delivery, and more.
