This year marks a momentous milestone for Matheny as we celebrate our 80th anniversary! Since our founding by Walter and Marguerite Matheny in 1946, Matheny Medical and Educational Center has been dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with complex disabilities.
To kick-off our year-long celebration of #MathenyMagic, we invited local historian W. Barry Thomson to the Matheny campus in Peapack for a special lecture all about the history of Matheny! The Mathenys: Lives and Legacies of Caring was held on March 30, 2026. At the event, guests learned about Matheny’s rich history and deep roots in the Somerset Hills, as told by someone who saw much of it firsthand.
