The Matheny School provides a comprehensive educational program, which encompasses instruction in all academic areas. The school serves students from preschool through grade 12 (ages 3-21) with medically complex developmental disabilties. Teachers are fully certified in special education and highly qualified to teach the core curriculum content areas. Students' needs are met through truly individual educational plans (IEPs), which focus on strengths and developing skills through best practices. Student services include therapies, social work, psychology and medical care. The Matheny School is approved through the New Jersey and New York departments of education and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Matheny’s Adult Services program provides education services for both adult residents and adult day health services patients. The curriculum is designed to instill a sense of self-respect and self-expression for persons, aged 21 and older, with severe physical disabilities and medical conditions.
